I made it!

I made it!

After 12 years and lots of hard work, tonight was Stephan's night. Students here have to wait until the day before the graduation to find out if they have passed or not. so yesterday was a little tense, but this evening was all fun.

It was amazing to feel how proud we are of Stephan and what he has done. To see him walking down the aisle, knowing that this is just the next step - but a big one! It was great to be able to talk to some of his teachers afterwards who said they would miss him.

And now on to the next step - quite a scary one, according to Stephan. He leaves for Harding on August 18 - to a place where he really doesn't know anyone (except for Shareya, who will also be attending there). He has met his roommate and is looking forward to that new life - but it is a new life. Making daily decisions without the push or help from parents. Scary, exciting, challenging!

  1. Wow! That is so exciting! Stephan, I'm so proud of you!
Did your graduationg ceremony actually resemble an American one?? We didn't even have robes and hats and tassles and stuff at my highschool graduation.
Anyway, I am so excited for you to start your new life at Harding. I know you'll have a ton of fun!

Oh, btw, did you know your flying out on Derrick and my anniversary?

  2. The ceremony was surprisingly American-ish. They even through their caps in the air at the end (though they didn't get to keep their tassles!)

  4. Congratulations! Can't believe he chose Harding over ACU (Go, Wildcats!) but whatever. We all have to learn to live with our mistakes...LOL...plus, he's going to miss all those potluck dinners at 11th & Willis!

Way to go!! We had no doubt you would graduate. That may come from our experience of how easy it is to graduate in American schools! ;)

We're glad and excited for you. Let us know if there's anything we do for you a few states away!

    Hey Stephan!

Congratulations!!! I'm so proud of you! I know what a difficult accomplishment that is over there. Looks like we'll be switching continents about the same time! If I don't see you, consider yourself hugged and congratulated!!

    Love you guys, Sue

  7. Congrats Stephen! And Scott and Shirley! What a proud day for you all.

We are excited to hear about Stephen's further adventures while at Harding. We have a fine friend there we'd like to make sure Stephen meets. Andrew would be someone good to know.

Congrats again! We love each one of you!
